About Us
Burr Oak Livestock is located in east central Illinois just a few miles from the Indiana border. We are easily accessed from Interstate 74, Interstate 70, and Illinois Route 1.
Steve and Karla began a livestock operation as a brother/sister partnership back in 1979 with the purchase to two Chi-Angus heifers. After many years of extensive cattle breeding and showing, two marriages, and children, they changed the focus of the endeavor from cattle to Boer goats and Dorper sheep.
With Hannah, Noah, and Marlene as the main showmen for the operation, we have traveled around the state and country promoting livestock and agriculture.
We continue to actively search for breeders who share our vision of what a meat animal should be, and we incorporate that vision into both the sheep and the goat operations.
Feel free to contact any of us, Steve and Marlene at 217-465-5596 or email at [email protected] or Doug, Karla, Hannah, and Noah at 217-427-2496, email [email protected], if we can help with you any aspect of the sheep and goat industry. We will be happy to discuss breeding, showing, fitting, or general care of goats and sheep.
